The weeks leading up to Christmas often become hectic and demanding. For some of us, this season is filled with family commitments; for others, it can amplify feelings of loneliness or disconnection. As we move toward the Winter Solstice, the days grow darker and many of us feel the weight of dwindling light and the pull of colder months ahead.
Yet this time of year - even long before Christian traditions - has always been a season for honoring natural cycles and trusting in the slow return of light. It invites a quiet renewal of hope as the world shifts from darkness toward brightness again. Whatever your beliefs may be, taking a moment to pause, reflect, and kindle a small flame can be a profound way to reconnect with what matters, to align with the wider rhythm of nature, and to reclaim this season from its commercial noise and return it to something more grounded, spacious, and sacred.
In these Sunday sessions, we’ll lean into that spirit of slowing down. Together we’ll explore practices that help us ground into our own inner reservoir of light and strength, even when the days are short and our energy feels thin. We’ll rest, stretch, move, breathe, and let ourselves remember that renewal doesn’t come from pushing harder, but from listening deeply. Through gentle somatic yoga, yin yoga, QiGong and meditation combined with poetry and self-inquiry, we’ll create a place to soften the edges, rest the nervous system, and let the body, heart and mind remember their own pace.
If you’re longing for a gentler December, a weekly ritual to anchor you, or simply a place to rest your nervous system, you’re warmly welcome. These sessions are an invitation to pause, to nourish yourself, and to find a bit more spaciousness in the midst of the season.

Here's the thing though - we often treat the New Year as a fresh start, yet nature is still in its deep winter dormancy — a reminder that we, too, are meant to move slowly and stay rooted in rest. If you’d like to stay connected to the softer, deeper, quieter yin quality of winter and keep honoring the season we’re moving through, you’re welcome to continue Slow-Down Sundays into the new year. Let your Sundays in January remain a place of nourishment, warmth, and quiet grounding as we step into the year of 2026 — an ongoing ritual to support your body, your energy reserves, and your inner steadiness.
