Movement, Ease, and the Free Flow of Qi
After the inward pull of winter, spring arrives as a surge of life force - both in nature and within us. During this phase what has been resting, gestating, or lying dormant begins to awaken. In the language of Chinese Medicine, this is the season of the Wood element, associated with movement, vision and the impulse to grow. What has been resting starts to stir. There is a natural desire to stretch, circulate, rise and find direction.
Spring Practice - Two Ways to Move With the Season
This March and April, I’m offering two complementary ways to practice, inspired by the qualities of spring and the realities of modern life. One is short and simple, designed to help you get moving with minimal effort and resistance. The other is slower and more spacious, offering time to settle, listen, and integrate. You can choose the approach that best supports you—or allow them to nourish each other.
Spring Refresh - 15 minutes of daily movement (pre-recorded, released March 16 - April 6)
This Spring, I’m experimenting with something new. A 15-minute daily movement practice for spring - gentle, uncomplicated, and easy to return to. These short sessions are designed for busy days, low-energy moments, or when resistance feels louder than motivation. No equipment needed, no pressure, no need to “keep up.” Just soft somatic flow and subtle Qi-inspired movement to help you reset, refresh, and get moving - without overthinking it. You can practice daily or occasionally, in the morning or evening.
For a month every Monday (starting March 16) you will receive 5 short pre-recorded practices that you can use daily or occasionally, in the morning or evening, or whenever you feel stiff, sluggish or stuck or simply don't have capacity or time for a full class. Each week you will get a mix of standing practices, kneeling and on the mat flows and one practice that takes you from movement towards meditation. This way the variety keeps your practice diverse, but you can also mix and match the shorter sessions into one longer practice.
Once purchased you have access to the practices forever.

Wood element inspired Yin & QiGong (Sundays 4pm, March 15 - April 19)
The Sunday sessions honor those who love the depth and spaciousness that a longer practice offers. The weekly Yin & QiGong session offers a slow, nourishing and a grounded way to work with spring’s rising energy. Rather than pushing through or forcing change, this series explores Wood elements teachings around the ease and smoothness of movement. Through a combination of slow Yin postures, acupressure, floor-based somatic flow, and QiGong, we create conditions for hydration, release, and renewed circulation in both body and mind. Sensitivity, playfulness, and curiosity - qualities also associated with the Wood phase and our childhood - are invited back into the practice.
All Sunday session are recorded and you will have access to the practices for 3 months.

LARGER CONTEXT AND FRAMEWORK FOR THIS SERIES
Spring, Wood Element & the Rhythm of Practice
In traditional Chinese Medicine, spring is associated with the Wood element, which governs the Liver and Gallbladder. In the body, the elements and organs are reflected through interconnected meridian pathways, so when designing the sequences for this series, I map the body with these relationships in mind, allowing seasonal wisdom to gently inform how and where we move.
Wood energy is about movement, vision, and becoming—it carries the impulse to grow, to plan, to imagine what’s next, and to take action toward it. It is the phase of planting seeds for a future harvest. At the same time, Wood is nourished by what came before it. The quiet depths of winter—the Water phase—support this rising energy. From deep Yin, Yang begins to emerge.
Movement, Ease, and the Free Flow of Qi
The Liver is responsible for the smooth circulation of Qi throughout the body. When energy moves freely, we experience clarity, adaptability, and a sense of emotional and physical ease. When it becomes constrained or stagnant - something very common in modern life - we may feel frustration, irritability, tension, or a sense of being stuck.
Rather than pushing through or forcing change, this series explores ease and smoothness of movement. Through a combination of slow Yin postures, gentle flow, and QiGong-inspired movement, we create conditions for hydration, release, and renewed circulation in both body and mind. Sensitivity, playfulness, and curiosity -qualities also associated with the Wood phase and early life - are invited back into the practice.
Growth Without Burnout
Wood energy is oriented toward action, vision, and forward momentum - but unchecked, it can tip into strain, over-effort, or burnout. A central inquiry of this phase that I often struggle with is how to follow our passions and directions without burning ourselves out. How can we move with intention rather than mental forcing? How can action arise from listening, rather than pressure?
This work is also an invitation to question internalised ideas about productivity, growth, and success. In nature, growth is rhythmic and relational—it depends on rest, nourishment, and reciprocity. By slowing down and paying closer attention, we create space for something new to emerge: in our bodies, in our personal lives, and in how we relate to the world around us.
The outer journey begins with an inner one. Through slow, subtle practices, we cultivate awareness - of sensation, emotion, values, and direction. From this place, movement becomes more economical, purposeful, and alive. Not rushed toward the horizon, but rooted in what truly matters.
