4-part yoga journey consists of 4 practice videos each about 20 minutes long. You can use them separately or mix and match to create a practice that suits your mood, time of day and your energy level. PART 3 is a Yin yoga practice - long holds in stretches, mainly targeting the hips and the spine. Yin yoga balances the more dynamic practices, bringing in the qualities of acceptance and patience, slowing you down enough to notice the subtle aspects of how your body and mind operate, relate and react. |
Remember, no use of force in Yin practice, you come to your natural edge where you first feel resistance and then you stay, breathe, soften and feel.
Yin is a wonderful practice on its own when you feel the need to slow down, it releases stiffness from the muscles and joints, energizes by stimulating the meridian lines throughout the body.
It is also a perfect introduction to and preparation for meditation (Part 4) as it opens the body and begins to focus and calm the mind. It can be used before a Vinyasa practice (Part 2) as a way to open the body or after a Vinyasa practice as a way to calm and cool down.
